Hotel Association of Canada

Bill Pallett has been my Go-to Person on Human Resource issues for more than 25 years. In the hospitality and lodging sector Bill is the acknowledged industry leader on all things large and small as they impact people. It is not by chance Delta Hotels and Resorts was voted as one of the Top 50 companies to work for in Canada for so many years. Nor was it a coincidence that Bill was the Sr. Vice President of People for Delta Hotels and Resorts during that same period. It is always a delight to work with Bill who never fails to bring professionalism and a sense of understanding and humour to the table.  These strengths are even more significant when considering his superb speaking and presentation skills. It was for this reason that we asked Bill to be a keynote Speaker at our 2015 Hotel Association of Canada Annual Conference in Toronto. His presentation on the 10 Tips for Recruiting and Retaining Top Talent was one of our best sessions ever.

Tourism HR Canada

Over the past twenty years, Bill has served as feature speaker at our annual HR Forums, facilitated Board-directed strategy planning sessions, and served as an advisor to Tourism HR Canada working committees. Bill is frequently called upon for his persuasive speaking skills and his ability to engage a diverse audience. His is always well prepared, knowledgeable and particularly effective in getting the message across. Bill uses ‘soft persuasion’ and a friendly welcoming approach that is focused on achieving results.

Board members have commented on his ability to speak plainly and use everyday language to make complicated or difficult topics clear and understandable. From time to time, Bill draws on his depth of experience and elevates the discussion with personal stories and salient anecdotes. His subtle use of humour and fair-minded approach has enabled Tourism HR Canada to achieve consensus on difficult subjects. It is not surprising that Bill’s name is often mentioned when the Board is seeking a reliable, competent individual that can deliver effective presentations or to deliver facilitated sessions.
